Brexit: Petition to revoke Article 50 hits one million signatures

As EU Leaders discuss the Brexit impasse in Brussels, one of the ways to end the issue is for the UK to revoke Article 50, thus abandoning Brexit altogether. The prospects for such an outcome are very slim and it is certainly not priced into the pound.

The UK Government and Parliament's Petitions website has a petition calling for just that. Parliament considers all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate. That threshold for this petition created by Margaret Anne Georgiadou has been surpassed and hit 1,000,000 signatures at the time of writing. After hitting one million, the flow of signatures continues.

The text of the petition:

Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.
The government repeatedly claims exiting the EU is 'the will of the people'. We need to put a stop to this claim by proving the strength of public support now, for remaining in the EU. A People's Vote may not happen - so vote now.
